Authors list

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to upgrade to the Lasernet Connector for Business Central Version 4.x.x.x.

Backup

You need to backup your configuration by using the backup tools provided by Formpipe.  Follow these steps:

1. Sign into the Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365 BC) application.

2. Click Lasernet Document Mgt. and select the Export/Import cue from the Miscellaneous group.

The Manage Lasernet Connector Data page is displayed.

3. Select all elements from the page except for the Copy Data Between Companies, and then click the Export button.

If you don't have this page but a different page, then you are on a older Lasernet Connector version. Please upgrade your Lasernet Connector to version 3.0.1.1 before continuing.

The Company Selector page is displayed.

4. Select all companies from the list and click OK.

5. Save the exported file.

Your backup is complete.

Uninstallation of Lasernet Connector

After the backup is complete, uninstall the Lasernet Connector.

1. On the BC main headline page, click Setup & Extensions.

2. Locate Lasernet Connector, click the vertical ellipses icon and select Uninstall.

The Extension Uninstallation page is displayed

3. Ensure the Delete Extension Data is selected. This is because we have changed the object range number and the table structure has also changed.

4. Select Yes on the warning page.

5. Continue uninstalling Lasernet Connector.

Unpublish Lasernet Connector

If you have D365 Business Central Online, please go to step no. 2.

1. Open PowerShell and Unpublish the Lasernet Connector.

2.  On the BC main headline page, click Setup & Extensions.

3. Locate the Lasernet Connector and select the 3 ...

4. Select Unpublish.

Please click here to see Microsoft's guidance for best practices with unpublishing an extension.
